Doctor arrested for sexually abusing four school children

A doctor in Ampara accused of sexually abusing four school children was arrested yesterday (Jan 6).

The arrest had been carried out after the students had lodged a complaint.

The students had sought to undergo a medical test to compete at a marathon which had been organised by a school in the area.

Police said the doctor along with the students had been produced before the Ampara Judicial Medical Officer today.

The accused is to be produced before the Ampara Magistrate’s Court today.
