Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne resigns from MP post

United National Party (UNP) National List MP Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne has informed the Secretary General of Parliament that he has resigned as a Member of Parliament with effect from January 20, 2020, Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri told Parliament a short while ago.

Dr Wickramaratne was appointed to Parliament as an MP from the National List in 2015. He was a member of Cabinet Committee that drafted the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
