Plans are underway to launch an electronic polling system for elections after 2020, Elections Commission (EC) Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said.
Deshapriya speaking to media noted that the EC has received a proposal to this effect and had also briefed political party leaders at a meeting held last Friday (Jul 12).
On the same lines, he added that party leaders had expressed agreement on a basis of policy to introduce this system after the upcoming provincial and presidential elections.
