The Elections Commission is to take a final decision about the conduct of the Parliamentary elections on March 25, Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake said.
He said that after all nominations are gazetted the Elections Commissions will be empowered to take a decision about the date of the elections.
He said the date for the elections could be differed by a minimum of two weeks.
Meanwhile several political parties have made requests to postpone elections in view of the spread of coronavirus.
Some of the requests have been handed over to the Elections Commission.
