The Ministry of Education has decided to suspend the process of enrolling students to intermediate grades in National Schools across the country until further notice, a notice issued from the Ministry said.
Accordingly, fresh student intake will not be allowed for the grades of 2,3,4 and in grade 7,8,9 and 10. The new directive is to come into effect from Wednesday onwards.
Secretary to the Education Ministry Prof. Kapila Perera told the Sunday Times that the decision was taken after considering the difficulties and complaints lodged over admitting students in intermediate classes.
