The Mattala Airport's administration has taken steps to educate youth on the operations at the airport and to provide groups of students between 500-1000 youths an opportunity to visit the airport and observe its operational activities on a daily basis.
Some 8000 youths who are currently taking part in a youth camp which has been organised for the 10th time in Weerawila were given this chance to visit the airport.
Accordingly, the airport authority had decided to facilitate between 500 to a maximum of 1000 youths per day who are interested in learning about the airport and its operations.
The youth will be given a tour around the airport and would also be able to view certain demonstrations of the airport's operational activities conducted by airport officials.
