Eight COVID-19 patients have been reported so far today (28), Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated.
Five of these eight are navy personnel while the other three are people undergoing quarantine at the Punani quarantine centre.
The latest confirmed cases bring the total number of COVID-19 patients in the country to 596.
The number of total recoveries has risen to 134.
