Cabinet has decided to hold the next general election after electoral reforms are put in place, Cabinet spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratna said today. He said that the new system would be a mix of the existing Proportional Representation system and the Westminster (First-past-the Post) system. President Maithripala Sirisena promised to bring about changes to the electoral system within 100 days during his election campaign.
