An 11-year old girl sustained injuries after she was stabbed by a 15-year old boy in Egodagoda, Hikkaduwa yesterday (Jan 04).
The girl who had sustained injuries is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya teaching hospital.
The teenager and the young girl reside in close proximity to each other, police said.
Police believe that the boy had stabbed the girl in the neck as a result of a heated argument that had broken out between them.
The boy has been taken into custody by the Karapitiya Police for further investigations.
