In pictures: Environmentalists protest against deforestation
Environmental advocacy groups and organisations staged a protest today in front of the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) against the ongoing illegal deforestation across the country. Investigations revealed that lack of coordination among state agencies and their failure to monitor and act on problems have resulted in a surge of mass-scale destruction of forests and environmentally sensitive areas including the Knuckles Range.
