Former DIG Nalaka de Silva who was remanded over an alleged VIP assassination plot has been released on bail today (May 21).
The former DIG was released on bail during a hearing before Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this afternoon.
The Magistrate imposed a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two surety bails worth Rs 5 million each on the suspect.
A travel ban was also imposed on the suspect by court today.
Mr. De Silva had been remanded for nearly an year over the alleged conspiracy to assassinate the President and former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
