Excise Dept. to propose liquor price formula
The Excise Department is to propose amendments to the Excise Act to introduce a liquor price formula.
Excise Deputy Commissioner Kapila Kumarasingha said this would be done to ensure the standards of liquor in the local market.
Meanwhile, the Excise Department is also digitizing its system.
Liquor sales and the income generated by the liquor industry could be monitored using this system, Kumarasingha added.
