Except for several spells of light showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts, mainly fair weather will continue over most parts of the island, the Department of Meteorology said in its weather forecast.
"Strong winds (50-60 kmph) at times can be expected over the country, particularly in the Central hills and Southern part of the island," it said.
