A group of farmers gave away their harvest of bananas for free in Ambalantota town as they could not sell them owing to the current situation in the country.
The farmers said that traders were not coming to purchase their harvests saying they cannot sell bananas due to the current situation.
Rather than let their harvests go to waste, the farmers freely gave away bunches of bananas in Ambalantota town.

The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
