Farmers take to the streets to protest Budget proposals
Farmers throughout the country gathered in Colombo to protest against some of the government’s Budget proposals.
The farmers in traditional loincloth, marched from Town Hall to Temple Trees. Some of the representatives from farmers’ organizations were eventually allowed to meet officials from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s office to discuss their demands.
