A female leopard was found dead with bullet injuries on its head on Monday evening at Nallathanniya, wildlife officials said. The incident occurred at Borwnlaw tea estate in Maskeliya.
The estate workers who saw the dead leopard informed the police and later along with police, wildlife officials visited the scene to conduct investigations over the incident.
The incident was referred to the Hatton Magistrate Courts where Magistrate J. Trosky ordered the arrest of the persons involved in the incident.
