A woman has been arrested in connection with the robbery of Rs 1.4 million in cash at Kandana on September 5, last year.
Police Media Unit stated that the suspect was taken into custody this morning (30) by the Western Province North Crime Investigation Division based at Peliyagoda after a lengthy investigation.
The 47-year-old suspect is a resident of Ivory Gardens, Kandana.
The cash was robbed last year after deceiving the victim into believing the suspects had a gemstone to sell.
Ten other suspects have already been taken into custody in connection with the robbery. Nine are currently out on bail after being produced before the Wattala Magistrate's Court while the main suspect continues to be held in remand.
The female suspect arrested today is also due to be produced before the Wattala Magistrate's Court. Further investigations continue.
