The Finance Ministry has been called on to resolve salary issues of government teachers and principals, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today (Jul 10).
He made these remarks in response to a question raised by Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) MP Nalinda Jayatissa in Parliament this afternoon.
Minister Kariyawasam had pointed out that the Finance Ministry has appointed a special committee to address salary issues in the state sector.
He also claimed that these issues had arisen due to the Salaries Commission report submitted by B.C. Perera in 1995.
