A fire broke out yesterday at the Ashraff Nagar garbage dumping site in Addalaichenai DS division, in Akkaraipattu, Police said.
Akkaraipattu Municipal Council fire brigade together with residents were able to bring the fire under control.Police are investigating the matter. It is believed that the garbage dumping site was set on fire and not brought about by natural causes.
