Fire erupts at Ella mountain range

News

A fire has erupted at the Ella mountain range on the borders of the Monaragala district yesterday (Aug 22).

Disaster Management Centre Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippilli said that the assistance of the Army has been sought to douse the fire.

However, he pointed out that various methods would be used to extinguish the flames since certain areas are not accessible by land.
