A fire erupted at a mountain reserve in Buttala last night, police said.
However, Police had doused the fire along with area residents and water bowsers of the Pelwatte Sugar Factory.
No casualties or damages to property had occured due to the fire.
Further investigations are underway.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
