The Fisheries Department has warned fishermen from going out to the northern, north-western, and Eastern seas from today (Aug 7) evening until August 9 due to heavy winds in the area.
According to the Department, wind speeds are expected to exceed 80 kmph during this time period in the seas across Puttalam, Jaffna, Trincomalee, Pottuvil and Batticaloa.
Meanwhile, multi-day fishing trawlers too have been warned from going out to the Arabian sea from today until August 11 and the bay of Bengal seas until August 9.
