The Fisheries Ministry has warned fishermen against going out to sea from 6 am tomorrow (Aug 30) until 8 pm on August 31, due to the possibility of an increase in wind speeds.
According to the Ministry, wind speeds in the seas from Mannar across Colombo, Galle, and Matara, until Batticaloa could increase upto 70 kmph to 80 kmph during this time period.
Accordingly, all multi-day and one-day fishing boats have been warned against engaging in fishing activities, while boats which have already left the shores have been urged to return to the shore.
