Five arrested in police raid on Nawala brothel

Five suspects have been taken into custody after police raided a brothel allegedly being operated under the guise of an Ayurvedic massage parlour at Nawala. .

Police Media Unit stated that the arrests were made last afternoon on a search warrant obtained from the Aluthkade No.04 Magistrate's Court. One male suspect was arrested on charges of operating and managing the brothel while four females were also arrested on charges of engaging in prostitution. 

The suspects are residents of Yahalathenna, Moratuwa, Ingiriya and Malabe. They are due to be produced before the Aluthkade No.04 Magistrate's Court today.
