Five Pakistani nationals were sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday (Sept 19) for smuggling heroin into Sri Lanka.
The Negombo High Court passed the sentence after the suspects had pleaded guilty to three charges filed against them by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
Among the charges were smuggling, being in the possession of narcotics and drug racketeering.
