Five persons who were arrested over the killing of a businessmen in Nugegoda last month have been remanded until August 22 by the Nugegoda Magistrate's court today (Aug 8).
Meanwhile, another suspect accused of involvement in the killing had been released on two surety bails worth Rs 200,000 each during today's hearing.
Police informed court that investigations are currently underway to locate and apprehend the chief suspect who is believed to have fled the country to evade arrest.
One businessmen had died while another had been injured after gun shots were fired at them while travelling in a jeep in Jambugasmulla, Nugegoda on July 28.
Three suspects had been granted bail previously over the incident.
