Former army commander Sarath Fonseka has been acquitted of all charges filed against him and granted complete amnesty by President Maithripala Sirisena, the President’s Media Division said. General Fonseka lost his civic rights in 2010 after military court found him guilty over many allegations.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
