The appointments of thirteen new Sri Lankan Ambassadors and High Commissioners were announced yesterday. The appointments were announced at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Priyani Wijesekara has been appointed as the Ambassador to Austria while Dr. Karunasena Kodithuwakku has been appointed as the Ambassador to China.
Vadivel Krishnamoorthy was appointed as the Deputy Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Chennai in India and Dharshana Perera will be Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Indonesia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that D.S.L. Pelpola has been appointed as the Ambassador to Italy, A.L.M. Lafeer has been appointed as the Ambassador to Jordan while K.W.M.D. Karunaratne has been appointed as the Ambassador to Myanmar.
M.S. Anwar will the Sri Lankan Representative to Palestine.
A.M. Thaseem has been appointed as the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia while Nimal Weeraratne will serve as the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Singapore.
According to the Ministry, Sunil De Silva will be Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to South Africa.
C.M. Anzar has been appointed as the Ambassador to Turkey while S.J. Mohideen was appointed as the Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
