Former SLC Chief financial officer Piyal Nandana Dissanayake who was remanded over an alleged financial fraud of
Rs 3.5 million was released on conditional bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday (Nov 22).
Mr. Dissanayake was released on a cash bail of Rs 50,000 and three surety bails of Rs 300,000.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne also ordered the suspect to be present before the CID once a month.
The lawyers appearing on behalf of Mr. Dissanayake had claimed that their client's account was hacked by a Pakistani national who had committed the fraud.
