The former Chairman of the Deraniyagala Pradeshiya Sabha, Anil Champika and 17 other suspects have been convicted and sentenced to death over the murder of an estate superintendent.
The suspects were sentenced to death after being produced before the Avissawella High Court today (Nov 25). Initially charges had been filed against 21 suspects, however three of them were acquitted.
