Former Embilipitiya ASP released on bail

Former Embilipitiya Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chaminda Dharmaratne, who had been in remand custody over the death of an area youth, was released on bail by the Embilipitiya Magistrate today. 

The ASP had been in remand custody for almost four months over the death of Sumith Prasanna Jayawardene, who died during an alleged clash between police and some area residents during a function in Embilipitiya town.
