Foundation stone laid for Chaithiya in Jaffna's lone Sinhala village

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the Chaithiya of Samithi Sumana Temple in the Navakkuli Sinhala village was held recently. The village is the only Sinhala village in the Jaffna district. 

A total of 57 families live in the village and the Chaithiya of the village temple is being erected with the assistance of the 'All Island Kalana Mithuru Daham Sabawa." The Chaithiya is due to be 60 feet in height.
