Four persons have been arrested for obstructing the duty of two traffic police officers in Batticaloa yesterday (Jul 4), police said.
According to the police, the suspects had attacked the policemen and stolen their revolvers along with five bullets.
The suspects are between the ages of 19 and 53. They are residents of Batticaloa.
Batticaloa Police have launched an operation to recover the stolen weapon and ammunition.
