Four Indian fishermen have been rescued after their trawler had capsized in the seas off Kachchativu, Jaffna, due to rough seas yesterday (Aug 01), Navy said.
The fishermen had been rescued by officers attached to the Northern Naval Command before being handed over to the Jaffna Fisheries Inspector for further action.
According to the Navy, steps had also been taken to provide food and water to the rescued persons who have been identified as those between the ages of 37 and 60.
