Four persons were killed in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a private bus at Bendiwewa in Polonnaruwa in the early hours of this morning.
Police said the accident occurred on the Baticaloa-Habarana Road. All those who died were on the motorbike.
Three of the deceased have been identified. They are all residents of Bendiwewa aged 23, 24 and 48 years. The fourth victim is yet to be identified.
The bus driver has been arrested and Polonnaruwa police are investigating.
