Four persons including a nine year old, school girl were killed in separate road accidents today, police said.
The school girl was hit by a van in Veherathenna, Vavuniya died yesterday evening. The deceased was Rasanjalee Subhasani Weerasinghe a resident of Bogaswewa, Veherathenna.
The girl hit the van when she crossed the road after getting off from a bus traveling to Bogaswewa. She was admitted to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Bogaswewa police is investigating the incident and the driver of the van has been taken into the custody.
Three others were killed and three were also injured in accidents in Mount Lavinia, Pothuhera and Karandeniya areas.
