Four police officers have been injured in a protest staged by Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA) students at Lotus Road today (Feb 26).
The students who had launched the protest this afternoon had demanded an increase of Rs 50,000 in their mahapola scholarship schemes which are provided to university students.
The Lotus Road leading to the Presidential Secretariat was blocked as a result of the protest.
Water canons and teargas were fired to disperse protestors and during the tensions the Police officers were injured. Protests were held following failed talks held with officials.
