Four railway officers have been interdicted after a head-on collision between two trains took place between Colombo Fort and Maradana today (Aug 28).
Railways General Manager Dilantha Fernando told Times Online that these officers include a train driver, assistant driver, and two guards who were on the train heading towards Kalutara.
This train had collided with another train which headed towards Chilaw.
Mr. Fernando added that the Department of Railways has launched an inquiry into the incident.
