Four SLFP councillors defect to SLPP
Four SLFP councillors of the Moratuwa Urban Council have defected from the opposition by taking their seats in the SLPP camp.
The councillors had crossed over during the monthly general meeting that was chaired by Mayor Samanlal Fernando on January 1.
Accordingly, the SLPP, which is the governing party, now has 27 seats in the Council while the opposition is left with 21 seats.
