The corruption case filed against former State Minister A. H. M. Fowzie for using a state vehicle for his private purposes was fixed for June 28 by the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court today (Mar 29).
Mr. Fowzie has been charged for using a jeep belonging to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) during his tenure as State Minister.
Meanwhile, the accused had filed preliminary objections in the case during today's hearing before Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
The Bribery Commission had filed the case against the former State Minister by claiming that he had defrauded
Rs 1,073,000 by using the vehicle for his personal activities between 2010 and 2015.
