Fuel prices in the country will be revised from midnight today (Dec. 10). This is according to the monthly fuel price formula.
According to the pricing formula, the fuel price is revised on the 10th of each month. The Fuel Price Committee is to meet at 6.00 pm today and decide on the fuel price.
The price of a barrel of crude oil in the world market against the US dollar will be considered along with crude oil prices in the world market.
The price of a barrel of crude oil, which was at 68 US dollars a month ago, is now at US $ 70. However, the rupee appreciated against the U.S. dollar in the past.
Earlier this year, the U.S. dollar was valued at Rs182.54 rupees has appreciated to Rs 174.72.
It is expected that the Sri Lankan rupee would further appreciated by 4.5 per cent in relation to the US dollar in the coming weeks.
