The results of 520 candidates who sat for the 2018 G C E Ordinary Level Examination have been suspended due to certain offences committed by them during the proceeding of the exams. Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha told Times Online.
During last year’s examination, a total of 1315 cases pertaining to incidents of disruption during examinations had been reported out of which 1265 incidents involved offences committed by candidates.
Out of these cases, the results of 738 candidates have been released since their cases have been resolved. However, the results of the remaining 520 candidates will not be released until an inquiry is made into these cases.
Meanwhile, 50 cases which involved examination invigilators are also being investigated. "Relevant action would be taken against these invigilators based on their offence committed," Mr. Pujitha noted.
