About 65 ambulances have been deployed in Gampaha district to temporarily assist in transporting Covid patients to hospitals and treatment centres, an official at the Gampaha district Director of Health’s office said.
The Health Ministry has given an additional 30 ambulances while the Western provincial Council’s Health Ministry has given another 15 ambulances and 20 ambulances from the ‘Suwa Seriya’ state-run ambulance service will operate in the district.
Apart from ambulances they will also receive support from Public Health Inspectors from neighbouring Puttalam district as well.
