The Organised Crime Intelligence Unit has seized 130 kg of ganja being transported in a carriage vehicle to Rameswaram and apprehended two persons, who were carrying the contraband for smuggling to Sri Lanka by sea. Acting on a tip-off, a special team from the unit, intercepted the vehicle at the railway gate at Kamudhakudi, near Paramakudi on Thursday evening and apprehended the duo. The accused were identified as K. Stephen (28), who drove the vehicle, and S. Dharmendran (28), the vehicle owner. (The Hindu)
