Gazette issued to dissolve Uva PC
A gazette notification has been issued announcing that the term of the Uva Provincial Council (PC) would end at midnight today (Oct 8).
The gazette has been signed by Uva Governor Maithri Gunaratne.
Following the dissolution of the Uva PC, all nine provincial bodies would stand dissolved in the country.
Sri Lanka has not held a provincial council poll since 2013.
