Gazette on excise guidelines to be submitted for Parliament approval
The cabinet of ministers has granted approval to submit the gazette on excise guidelines before Parliament for approval.
According to a proposal submitted by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, the Excise Ordinance is to be strengthened against illicit and unregistered liquor manufacturers.
A gazette notification to this effect had been issued by the Finance Minister on June 20 this year.
