Non-cabinet Minister Ajith Perera yesterday (Dec 27) said that a general election is not necessary until the Parliament completes its full term.
Mr. Perera made these remarks at a press briefing yesterday.
Speaking further, he claimed that the motive of the UPFA was to show the international community that there is a political uncertainty in the country.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
