GMOA strike called off

The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has called off its 24-hour token strike which commenced at 8.00am today. The strike was called off following discussions with the Minister of Law and Order Sagala Rathnayaka.

The trade union action commenced this morning after the GMOA said the Government failed to address several issues they raised, including the alleged recent attempt to abduct the Convenor of the Medical Faculty Students' Action Committee, Ryan Jayalth by police using a white van.
