The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) Central Committee will meet with other unions next Tuesday on further trade union action after claiming thatFriday’s strike was a success.
The GMOA said that the strike action will continue, if they do not receive a positive response over the issue regarding the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM).
The strike action crippled health services as the government backed by doctors not involved in the strike tried to keep up the health services.
The most affected were the persons who were ignorant of the strike and turned up for medicine and their usual clinics.
