A countrywide token strike has been launched by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), the Government Dental Surgeons Associan (GDSA) and the Government Ayurvedic Medical Officers Association.
The token strike will take place countrywide however all maternity hospitals, children’s hospitals, cancer hospitals and Kidney Treatment Units will function as usual without interruption, local media reported.
According to reports the trade unions were compelled to launch protests at all main state hospitals countrywide because the government did not show any interest in a dialogue on the budget proposals.
